Custom vacuum forming molds
Vacuums R manufactures fiberglass molds with a built-in metal frame designed for vacuum forming of finished products on machines.The cost of the finished mold is calculated based on the weight of the fiberglass — 13 € per 1 kg.The metal frame is not included in the weight of the product; its cost is added separately — 2,1 € per 1 meter of metal profile.
Cost calculation
Example:The total weight of the finished mold is 16 kg.A 40×25 mm metal profile with a length of 3 m (weight - 1.6 kg per 1 m) was used.
Calculation:* Metal weight: 3 m × 1.6 kg = 4.8 kg* Net weight of the fiberglass mold: 16 kg – 4.8 kg = 11.2 kg* Cost of fiberglass: 11.2 kg × 13 € = 145.6 €* Cost of metal: 3 m × 2,1 € = 6, 30 €
Total price of the mold: 151,9 €
Durability and reliability
Fiberglass molds have a service life of decades and can withstand tens of thousands of molding cycles.Unlike MDF molds, they are not damaged by temperature fluctuations of 150–200 °C and do not deform over time. Thanks to the metal frame, the structure remains stable and the mold remains accurate throughout its entire service life.
