Manufacturing molds course of any complexity for vacuum forming
Vacuums R manufactures custom-made molds of any complexity. We also deliver our products outside Ukraine.However, for our customers from the EU and distant countries, as well as those planning large-scale production (car tuning, pallets and pots for seedlings, molds for concrete and plaster products, etc.), we offer a course on how to make molds independently at your own production facilities.
Training process and requirements
To make the training as practical as possible, we purchase several ready-made molds made of ABS material or other plastics according to the topic you are working on or planning to work on, and based on them, we record a step-by-step training video. This allows you to produce the required number of molds within the first week. At no additional cost, we provide instructional videos for other types of molds to expand your skills, if you are interested.
Making fiberglass molds does not require a separate workshop or special ventilation. The technology is quick to learn, but without knowledge of the key nuances, significant losses of time and materials usually occur. We went through this process ourselves 20 years ago and can pass on all the experience we once had to gain the hard way.
Basic technical requirements for vacuum molding forms:The top of the form should be 10–15 mm thick, and the side walls should be 7–8 mm thick. A metal frame with central supports at the level of the form sides should be installed inside.
Course includes:
- Overview of necessary materials and tools- Mixing proportions- Preparing the object for molding- Applying the material- Preventing defects- Curing times and temperatures- Safely removing the mold from plastic, MDF, wood, concrete, plaster, and 3D models.- Tips and avoidance of common mistakes
After training, you will receive technical support until you master the production process — we will answer any questions that arise during the work process.
Duration:
The course is as intensive as possible and lasts about a week, depending on the complexity of molds. The training videos allow you to master the process in two weeks without the need for any other consultations or lengthy experiments.
